The Team

We are a collective of therapists who come together to provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. We also can provide office-based therapy in Mount Vernon, using more traditional talk therapy as well as art and play therapy.

Amy Beek, LICSW and ES

Works Wednesday - Saturday

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and also an Equine Specialist. I also supervise the Associate level therapists. I have worked with children, teens and families for over 30 years.  Most clients  were involved with multiple agencies, such as special education, juvenile justice and/or social services so I am knowledgeable regarding those systems. I Have worked with people who are in severe distress due and/or have significant diagnoses.

I draw upon a wealth of experience and training to help guide a path for people to make progress. Not only have I worked in the field, but I also raised 3 children with various issues.

I really like using the horse model for helping people. I grew up with horses and about twenty years ago I saw it in action in adolescent treatment and am pleased to see the benefit first hand now.

If horses are not something that interests you, I also can see people in the Mount Vernon site and when necessary, via telehealth.

BreAnna Boyd, LMHCA and ES

Works Thursday - Saturday

I have a passion for people and horses, and have seen the remarkable impact horses can have on one's holistic health.  I have sought to couple my clinical counseling work with horse encounters.

I have almost 20 years of horse experience, and several years incorporating horses into sessions.  I have recently graduated with a master's in clinical mental health counseling and hold an associate license for practicing therapy.

I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders but have experience working with a diverse range of individuals walking through a variety of challenges.

I also have experience in faith-integrated counseling with a focus on Bible-based spiritual formation.

The primary populations I serve include working with anxiety disorders, young moms, domestic violence survivors, kids and teens, but I welcome anyone interested in seeking services at the barn.

Though equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) is my primary working modality, I am also happy to do office-based sessions for those wanting traditional style therapies.

Works Wednesdays

Alizee Dalton, LMHCA

I love to work with all ages, and believe that everyone is capable of change and self advocacy. I have been working with children and families for six years and have helped them work through issues related to ADHD, ASD, trauma, LGBTQIA identity, substance use, depression, anxiety, and more. These can be severe situations where families feel they have tried everything, or dealing with family transitions and needing guidance.

I love to help families and individuals come up with creative and individualized coping strategies that bring back function to relationships and the things we do as humans.
